Travel retail's Hand in Hand for Haiti project nears landmark opening
HAITI. Travel retail charity project Hand in Hand for Haiti is nearing a major
landmark, with the opening in October of the new Lycée (school)
Jean-Baptiste Point du Sable. The project has been the focus of sixteen
months’ industry fund-raising.
The hurricane-proof, anti-seismic, sustainable school is located in
Saint Marc, north of the capital Port-au-Prince. The first 153 students
will begin their education here in four weeks and eventually the school
will offer education to over 700 students from pre-school to secondary
level. Bilingual education (English-French) with best-in-class academic
standards in alignment with the Haitian academic curriculum will be
provided.

Hand across the ocean as seen in the Moodie Report
Several months after facing one of my most challenging ‘conference’ audiences, I returned last week to hear the audience feedback.
The venue was Montpelier Primary School in London, attended by my children Ali (age 10) and Samira (9). As my Blog readers will know from an earlier report, the school decided to organise a charity collection for travel retail’s Hand in Hand for Haiti school-building initiative.
